Polyus starts survey drilling at Sukhoi Log gold deposit

MOSCOW, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- SL Zoloto, a joint venture between Polyus and Rostec-Business Development, has initiated a 180,000 meter survey drilling program at Sukhoi Log, the biggest gold greenfield project, in Russia’s Irkutsk Region, Polyus said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The campaign, which is scheduled to last two years, will provide the basis for Polyus to update the block model for the deposit and for both Ore Reserve and Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource estimates in accordance with the JORC Code,” the statement said.

In January, SL Zoloto won an auction to develop the Sukhoi Log deposit. At that time, Polyus held 51% in the joint venture, and Rostec-Business Development had the remaining 49%.
